Picking Pineapple Blocks

Yesterday was a cool, crisp, wet fall day; otherwise, the best time to take a quilt class and learn some new skills.  I attended a Pineapple Quilt class to learn how to use the Creative Grids Pineapple Trim Tool.  Look at the fabulous quilts that can be made with this tool:

Our instructor, Rita Fishel, is the best!  She was fun, informative and energetic.  I liked her calm demeanor as she worked individually with each student and even offered extra help with ripping out, pressing or cutting. Awesome Lady!

Here are some of the blocks that students completed during the class:  The room lighting was not the best, so I apologize that the pictures are not as "crisp" as they could be.

When you visit the Vendors Market this weekend in Streetsboro (CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS ABOUT THE MARKET), be sure to stop by Rita Fishel's Booth and watch a demonstration on how to use the awesome Pineapple Trim Tool!!

See you at the Vendor's Market brought to you by the ladies of the Streetsboro Quilt Guild!

Exciting News!!!  This year, instead of having the quilt show, our Streetsboro Quilt Guild is trying something new.  We will have a Vendors market and a class with our Guest Teacher, Rita Fishel.  I'm thrilled to be a part of this new adventure and am looking forward to visiting all of the vendors at the mall and taking the pineapple class from Rita Fishel.

Rita is a nationally known speaker and teacher, and Goddess, Queen Mother of Creations Sew Clever, Inc. in Chillicothe, Ohio. She’s a native of Northeastern Ohio with a B.A. in Clothing & Textiles/Business from the University of Akron. She is the author or two books from the American Quilter’s Society “Mystery Quilts” and “Everyday Quilts”.
After spending many years as a custom seamstress in the desert southwest, Rita and family relocated to a charming farm in rural southern Ohio. In late 1992 she purchased a small clothing and fabric business.

Many classes were offered in this new shop, and by far the most popular and the most fun were Rita’s Mystery Classes. From 16 years of Mystery Classes a book was born! Now located in a large, beautiful 1800’s Georgian home, Creations Sew Clever has evolved into a wonderful, full-line quilt shop with 3 longarm quilting machines, a friendly staff of 20 quilters, and an amusing resident ghost. Stop by when you find yourself in southern Ohio. The gang is dying to show you around!
