Streetsboro Quilt Show

What a fun weekend!  This is my first year, or should I say month, as a member of the Streetsboro Quilt Guild.  Being in a guild is new to me, so I am learning as I go.  First of all, I learned that it is called a "guild" instead of a club because the members are all craftsmen, or craftswomen.  We are all quilters.

I spent a good bit of time Friday and Saturday at the quilt show.  I got to help out on the floor, quilt patrol, and see all the lovely quilts . . . one of my favourite things to do!  The raffle quilt, Spools of Friendship, was absolutely stunning.  Unfortunately, I did not win it, but enjoyed seeing it.  Take a look . . .

Quilt Show Pictures: Enjoy!

It is impossible to show all of the quilts; there were close to 200.  Here are some that caught my eye.

Mitzi's Peacock Quilt - lovely!

This is made up of the baby clothes from grown kids for their mom.  It's a very unusual quilt, but a mom would love it!

This 9-patch was chosen as the favourite of visitors to the show.  The pieces were very tiny and precise.  Any quilter can appreciate all the work that went into this quilt.

It was nice to learn more about the judges.

This quilt was not part of the show.  It's a snowman kit with soft flannel material from Polka Dot Pincushion, one of the vendors at the show.  Barbie and I both bought one.  Isn't it cute?

Hope you enjoyed the show.

  1. Thanks for the quilt show! Mitzi's peacocks look great! I liked the ones you liked too. How come there was no picture of your quilt?

  2. Mitzi's quilt was almost the first one when you walked in the show. It looked really great. I'll tell you about my quilt on Thursday. We both got a third place ribbon. :)
