Good Old Summertime QBee Days!

August 30:

After vacations and travels to Sisters, Oregon, the QBee gang finally had the opportunity to gather at Miss Carol's and work on some quilting projects.  Our newest QBee, Jen, rode along with me to Miss Carol's little country studio.  It was a picture perfect summer day!

My little red car parked in its favorite spot under the tree
Jen completed an impressive number of squares on her star project.  This quilt is going to be gorgeous.

She Also brought a "show and tell" made by her great-grandmother.  Jen plans to complete this Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt in her honor!

All hand pieced and hand quilted!  So lovely!!

Mama Barb brought a couple of show and tell projects.  Her Paducah quilt (kit was bought in Paducah) with Kansas Trouble material and an update on her progress on her "traveling" Attic Window Quilt.

Barb is working on a Christmas Project for a grandchild - Elf on the Shelf.  It will be here sooner than we think.

Miss Carol completed a log cabin bed runner.  Did I ever tell you how fast she sews?  Let's just say she leaves me in the feed-dog dust.

What a perfect day of quilting!

August QBee Day:

In August, Jen had to work, so I made the trip to Plainfield on my own.  I missed her company, but played lots of CDs to keep myself company.

Miss Carol had a surprise for us!  Tons of donated material and books to share.  Look at those piles and she was still sorting material.  Wow!!  We better start sewing faster.

I brought a quilt to square up on Carol's big table - you might recognize this from last summer's retreat - I call it the weaved fence quilt.  I never said I was a fast quilter, did I?

Carol worked on binding.  She is expecting her first grandson soon and this is her first quilt for him (one of many I'm sure).  Very striking and unique!  I love it!
Mama Barb was having fun playing with scraps and making I-spy blocks:

How fortunate we are to have a place to gather and sew and share and grow.
